Hello. Let me tell you a little bit about me. My name is Laura. Southwestern Ontario, Canada is where I call home. Being a retired former business owner, you can find me enjoying the garden, doing home decor, cuddling my 2 dogs & 1 cat, watching my grandson, hanging with my daughters, being with my friends, loving my husband…and I will admit my guilty pleasure of Netflix binging.
Last year (one week ago) I turned 55 years old. As a young woman my idea of 50 was my life would be half over. My clothing would morph into to shift dresses and my hair would turn blue as I clogged around in very sensible Hush Puppy shoes. Gravity would kick in and I would have a 5 o’clock shadow. I channelled Mrs. Doubtfire.
As a child and teen I loved to read. Judy Blume and Erma Bombeck were some of my favourites. My reading tastes changed over the years but my desire to delve into a book was strong. Once the kids came it was Dr. Seuss and Barney the Dinosaur followed by Ledgers and Policy Manuals at work. Ten years ago I played with the idea of writing some sort of book. I could not come up with a topic let alone the ability to fill pages so I let the idea go on the back burner.
Now is the right time for making change. To take advantage of the ability to write a blog and embrace my Mid-Century journey.
And away we go ……
